  • What are the signs my roof needs to be replaced?

The first sign is age. If your roof is more than 20 years old, it is probably time for repairs or a full replacement. Other signs include lifted, cracked, or missing shingles and leaks or wet spots in your attic.

  • How often should I schedule roof inspections?

It is advisable to have your roof inspected at least once a year to identify any potential issues early on and prevent major problems down the line.

  • Should I replace my roof if it’s not leaking?

Your roof doesn’t need to start leaking to show it needs replacing. Other problems can cause worrying, resulting in a roof replacement. It is better to replace the roof if there is extensive damage.

For example, if the roof starts sagging or has a few shingles missing, it could be time to replace it. The shingles protect your decking and gutter from harsh weather elements like wind and humidity. If yours are missing, your roof is exposed to more damage, eventually leading to making a replacement.

  • How often should you replace your roof?

The amount of time your roof lasts depends on the materials used to make it. It can also depend on the ventilation and installation method. Good roofs typically last for 12-15 years. Those with higher-quality shingles and underlayment can stay with theirs for over 30 years.

You might not need to replace your roof unless something is wrong with it. A roof this old can start developing problems, indicating that it has overstayed its time.

  • Is roof damage causing the stains on my ceiling?

The stains on your ceiling are more than likely due to a leak in your roof or plumbing. Experts Elite Roofing & Gutters can swiftly discover the root cause and develop a plan of action to take care of the problem. • How long does it take to replace a roof?

Generally, we can replace the roof of an average residence in 1-3 days. Several factors influence the time it takes to replace a roof.

    These include:

    • Weather
    • Roofing materials and design
    • Total house size
    • The steepness of the roof
    • Historical significance of home
    • Accessibility of your roof
    • Structural Damage

Depending on the weather, complexity, and accessibility of your home, it could take up to three weeks for a roof replacement. We’ll get this job done as quickly as possible, but we will never sacrifice quality craftsmanship in favor of a speedy job.

  • Can my roof be repaired or does it need to be replaced?

This depends on a variety of factors. Oftentimes, a leak can occur around metal flashing where components of the roof are installed (vents, pipe jacks, chimneys, valleys, etc). If the shingles are in good shape and it is just not watertight in these areas, it can usually be repaired without a full roof replacement. If there are large spots where the shingles have begun to curl or they are worn down, typically a roof replacement is the best option.

  • What are some reasons to replace my gutters?

    • Clogged or leaky gutters are one of the biggest causes of basement leaks, mold, and other foundation problems. Also, standing water in gutters is one of the common places mosquitoes breed.
    • Old worn-out gutters are unappealing and reduce the value of your property.
    • Your old gutters may have become bent or dented or may be pulling away from your home in a manner that they cannot be reattached or reworked.
    • Your old seamed gutters may have begun to pull apart or have leaks and you would like to replace them.
    • You want to change the color of your gutters.
    • The drainage of your current guttering is not sufficient so you want to install a larger size gutter and downspout system. Most homes and commercial properties have 5-inch gutters with 2×3 downspouts, but we can install 6-inch gutters with 3×4 downspouts when necessary.

  • Should I replace the roof and gutters at the same time?

If you need replacement gutters and your roof is close to the end of its lifespan, you might want to hold off on your new gutters until you need a new roof. Unless you have faulty gutters that could be destroyed during a heavy rain or storm, it might make more financial sense to wait to do both simultaneously.
